What Shouldn’t Everyone on Facebook Know About You?

Facebook (started by college students) is today’s most popular social network of public knowledge about the ins and outs of people lives. 

 

Assumption or Fair Assessment…..

 

Today most mature or older adults use FB to advertise business, promote their views, exchange information, communicate with friends and family far away, provide inspiration, share pictures, locate people from their past and make new friends with people with shared interest or fill a void of aloneness. 

 

Whereas, many others use FB to read about what going on in someone’s life and make comments, or read about what other people are doing.  Some express what they want people to know about them or their own discomfort, feelings or how they want everyone to come away with a particular impression of them.  There are those who can’t wait to share how their love life is dangling or spend hours just scrolling through older posts to catch up on what they have missed from selected and accepted friends.

 

As a result some FB statuses make our newsfeed appear as a social networking soap opera. For instance……

 

Relationship Status……..”It’s Complicated”….What’s that about?  Is that too much information?

Whether sharing or receiving, people have been finding public outlets to exchange information and FB is just another addition to the lineup of venues to do so.
